hummusWhen it comes to dinner, I have an evil twin. The "good" me believes in cooking whole foods from scratch, every damn night. Then we sit around the table and eat like civilized people with cloth napkins and conversation and everything.

But a few nights a week my evil twin comes home from work with something different in mind. She's tired. She's hungry. She's late. No time for "real" cooking -- I've got to whip up something fast. But I hate craptastic "processed" food because it tastes like genetically-modified iguana tears and will give me cancer/diabetes/gas/a bad disposition.

Except for my arsenal of super-duper, surprisingly-nutritious, not-craptastic secret weapons! Here are some evil-twin ready-made meals that even the "good" me approves of.

I was really excited to read this, until I saw another pain-in-the-ass slide show.

I'm pretty sure you don't understand what is meant by "processed" foods.....

That's what I was thinking rightside. I had no clue what she was referring to. Processed food in my mind is boxed or frozen meals. I swear who the hell has time to roll pasta? And then dry it. That's like a two day process to have spaghetti. boxed noodles are just fine as long as you don't add processed cheese and other garbage. Frozen vegetables? Really? Farmer's freeze their vegetables all the time. I know bc I'm a farmer's daughter. Canned vegetables and beans are fine when you get sodium free ones. Jesus this was a waste of my time.

I like a lot of processed foods.  But then, I'm not a food-snob who has endless hours to prepare meals for my family from scratch.
