Usain Bolt Celebrates Olympic Gold With $125,568 Bottle of Champagne

Usain BoltUsain Bolt is totally on my radar after winning pretttyy big in London, and looking very handsome in the process I might add. Actually, let me rephrase that. The man epically dominated and made "Bolt" a household name. So naturally, how does an Olympic superstar celebrate breaking a world record for the 4 x 100m relay? With champagne. Not just any champagne, though. A $125,568 bottle of champagne called Ace of Spades.

Yup. You read that right. Over the weekend Bolt partied 'til 6 in the morning with some of his friends by poppin' bottles of pricey bubbly at a London nightclub called Movida.

I just can't help myself. Let's get down to business and do some math.

The bottle, which was 15 liters, is equivalent to 20 bottles of champagne. That would make it $6,278.40 per "bottle." Last time I checked, there's roughly six glasses of champagne in a bottle. That's $1,046.40 a glass. For a casual sipper, I'd say there are about 16 sips in a glass. That's $65.40 a sip.

Holy. Shit.

Hey, to each his own I suppose. I was actually with a friend of mine last week at a restaurant when a man at the table next to us ordered a $1,200 bottle of champagne and offered us a glass. There I sat, sipping my expensive bit of bubbly contemplating how much each sip cost. I guess I can feel a little bit better knowing it wasn't $65.40 each. It still feels uber wasteful though.

I can't help but wonder, how much does it ACTUALLY cost to make these pricey bottles of champagne? Is celebrating with cake just not as cool and hip anymore? Because hey, as much as I love the bubbly stuff, I really love some baked goods. I bake a mean blondie, Usain. Let me know if you're interested.

Have you ever sipped pricey champagne? Can you blame Bolt for wanting to ball out?
