box of chocolatesYou know how you crave chocolate right before your period? Well apparently no you don't. Scientists have gone and debunked that "myth." A new study found that college women aren't any more likely to crave chocolate in the days before their period than at any other time of the month. Ha! Right. WHATEVER. Then explain this box here on my desk.

I'm having a hard time accepting these results, and maybe it's just because I have PMS rightnowrightthissecond. I think I'll need to eat a little more chocolate before I can fully digest this new "finding." Let's take a closer look.

Okay ... what makes this study different is they didn't include women with eating disorders. Also, in other studies women were asked to remember past cravings, but in this study women were asked about current cravings. Oh yeah, and they only asked 35 women, so obviously they found the only 35 women in America who don't crave chocolate right before their periods. (Besides you, reader, who is about to write in the comments, "I never crave chocolate before my period!")

I return to my original point, which is: WHATEVER. I kind of feel like "craving" chocolate is the only fun part about our periods. Because the rest of it mostly sucks for us. But once a month we have an excuse to indulge a little bit in some medically-necessary chocolate. And now science is taking that excuse away! Science, why do you have to ruin my chocolate fun?

I don't care. I have chocolate and I intend to use it. You can tell me my craving is imaginary, but you can't force me to stop eating truffles.

No really, do you crave chocolate just before or during your period?
