grilled cheese sandwichNational Grilled Cheese Day came and went last month, but who needs a holiday to indulge in the all-time fave sandwich? In some households, every day is National Grilled Cheese Day. What can you do? It's just so easy and the little ones can't get enough!

But sometimes, you want ... okay, you need to mix it up. Have no fear, because here are seven easy, speedy variations on the classic grilled cheese sandwich that you're bound to salivate over.

Grilled Cheese With Bacon & Apple Slices

For Tyler Florence's famed recipe, all you need is dijon mustard, 8 slices country-style white bread, sliced 1/2-inch thick, 12 ounces cheddar cheese, 12 slices bacon, cooked to desired doneness, 1 green apple, and thinly sliced 3 tablespoons unsalted butter.

Directions: Heat grill pan or large skillet over medium-low heat. Assemble sandwich: Generously spread Dijon on 4 slices of bread. Top with slices of cheddar, 3 pieces of bacon, and apple slices. Place the remaining bread on top and spread with butter. Place on skillet buttered-side down and butter the remaining side. Cook until cheese is slightly melted and bread is browned. Flip and continue to cook until cheese is thoroughly melted and sandwich is golden brown.

My college dining hall used to make grilled cheese and apple sandwiches all the time. They were the nastiest things ever.

A few years ago, we had a tradition. Every Sunday afternoon when we got home from church, I would fix everybody grilled cheese sandwiches. I'd often also fry some lunchmeat ham to put in the sandwiches (I can't fry bacon to save my life... not even in the microwave!) Mmmm Mmm!

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A great read. I'll definitely be back.

Right here is the right webpage for anyone who hopes to find out about this topic. You realize a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need to…HaHa). You certainly put a brand new spin on a topic that's been written about for ages. Excellent stuff, just excellent!
