Man Orders Popeye’s Chicken & Finds Heart Still Attached to One Piece (VIDEO)

fried chicken

Ok, I think I need to go ahead and warn you that if you're the slightest bit squeamish, you may want to brace yourself before reading the rest of this post. Because a new video went up on YouTube a couple weeks ago from a man who ordered take out from Popeye's Fried Chicken for his family -- and found a chicken breast with what appears to be a heart, or possibly a liver, still attached to it. (Excuse me -- I can't stop gagging over here.)

In the video, you will see him talking all about the order his wife brought home, and then he pulls out the actual chicken breast and shows off the attached chicken organ, which is all brown and gross looking (not that it's a pretty sight normally) after having survived a rendezvous with the deep fryer. I mean, poultry organs are gross enough as they are, but after they've been shoved into a vat of hot oil? Mmm. Mmm. Mmm.

Without further ado, here is the video. You might want to watch this in close proximity to a restroom.

Ahhhh!!!! Let me guess -- you're never eating fried chicken again, right? Join the club. I actually adopted a no-fried-chicken policy years ago, because I just can't stand the sensation of chewing something off a bone. It makes me feel like some kind of animal, or a cave man or something. I guess eating fried chicken (or any other meat that still has bones) is just way too primal for my liking.

And then there's that whole urban legend about a man biting into a piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken and realizing it was a rat. The jury's still out on whether that actually happened, but the thought alone is enough to make me steer clear of anything involving "secret recipes." (Eww!)

Now that I've seen this horror of a chicken story -- I may just stick to salads and vegetarian entrees when ordering take out. The last thing I need is to accidentally bite into a heart.

Have you ever had a horrible take out experience?

Ewww. Some people DO eat organ meat, but if it wasn't what you ordered... Heck, that's not even the menu.

When my sister and I were young, my dad had bought some Kentucky Fried Chicken. My sister had a breast piece. As she started to cut it she said "look, I'm doing open heart surgery." We looked over and it was seeping blood. It was so disgusting. My dad took it back and never ate chicken from there again.

This article is ridiculous. *Newsflash* chicken comes from (gasp) chickens! Who knew!? You mean, like, they were actually living, breathing creatures at one point? I for one would be glad for the proof it came from a real chicken and was not just deep fried wood pulp and ammonia

I don't see what the big deal was it's edible it's part of the chicken and yummy if I do say so myself. It's just chicken it's not like he found a rat or roach then he have the right to be grossed out.

Lol musemommy1010. I agree. There is so much worse that could have been found. Such as meat that didn't come from a chicken and therefore shouldn't be on my chicken.

The chicken heart is just concetrated chicken thigh meat.  It's muscle meat.  Also, think about the monumental amount of waste that comes from this ridiculous American fear of eating anything connected to a bone or eating organ meat when it's perfectly edible.  It's part of the damn chicken, not a random finger or insect!

Ever heard of deep fried gizzards? YUMMY! Whatcha think those are made of? Ok, so one guy got a chicken who they did not clean and gut perfectly, so what? I'd be more worried about the fact that the flour they use to bread it has a standard acceptable number of bugs allowed per pound. But again, thats just extra protien!

People are to picky these days. Go kill a chicken, gut it, quarter it, bread it and fry it, you will forgive this mistake. Or become a vegan, one of the two.

How is eating the heart any different from eating the breast or the thighs? I imagine it's a little tougher but it's just muscle like the rest of the parts the chicken you happily chow down on. Some meat eaters are so weird.

Aaaahahahaha! This article had me LOLing! Ok, peeps, Id just like to let you in on a little secret: MEAT comes from ANIMALS! Living things! They have hearts and livers and all that just like us! And musemommy is right, its GOOD to be reassured that the food we are eating is REAL! Haha in my head Im remembering all over again that whole "pink slime" episode.

So lets vote on which is grosser, say? Organs in chicken meat or pink slime?
