I love Peeps and look forward to them each spring as Easter approaches, but here it is just one day after the big bunny came, and I'm completely Peeped out. From the baskets my children found yesterday morning to gift packages sent from relatives near and far, it seems no one can resist putting in a package (or 12!) of Peeps. So now, we have blue Peeps, pink Peeps, chocolate Peeps, and bunny Peeps. We have been overrun by Peeps.
I feel the ever-present sugary crunch in my teeth long after I've brushed them, and my children seem to be coated in their sticky remains no matter how many times I wash them. Bottom line: The Peeps must leave the premises soon, but I'm not sure how many more plain Peeps we can pop. So I've come up with a plan of attack to use them up with a variety of ways to pep them up. Here are five recipes to use up all of those ever-present Peeps.
This is my favorite way to use up a bunch of Peeps and produce a delish dessert in the process. All of the colors spice them up, and they're great to take to a bake sale or other gathering where they will quickly be gobbled up.
The weather has been gorgeous most places. Why not light a fire one of these nights and roast up some s'mores with Peeps in place of marshmallows?
I might go hit the sale racks to scoop up more Peeps just so I can make more of these. You use the chocolate-dipped ones for this recipe and toast them before mixing them up with ice cream and more. Perfect.
If there's a healthy way to eat Peeps, this is it. It combines an assortment of fruits and nuts with the Peeps to make one delicious salad.
Get fancy schmancy with this recipe that combines the zing of lemon with all of the sugar. It's pretty too, and if you eliminate the Peeps on top, no one may even know about your secret ingredient.
Have any great ways to use up those Peeps to add? How many boxes of Peeps do you currently have in your house?
