All right, wise guy, I know exactly what you're going to say so allow me to beat you to the punch: A True Blood cookbook? But vampires don't even eat food! Okay, fine. Vampires don't eat food. But Bon Temps isn't populated exclusively by the undead ... I mean, Sookie is a waitress, remember? And Merlotte's does serve food.
Which is exactly why True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites From Bon Temps will make a fangtastic addition to any Truebie's collection of cookbooks. Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! Not just because I'm a True Blood addict, but because I'm a huge fan of Creole cuisine, and all the recipes are by chef Marcelle Bienvenu, a bonafide New Orleans boy.
Sadly, the book isn't on store shelves just yet, but it is available to pre-order.
Hungry yet? (Ooh, remember the "Smells Like Dinner" episode? That was a gooooood one.)
Here's a little preview from the website to whet your appetite:
Menus at the now-famous Fangtasia and Merlotte’s Bar and Grill play a key role in the series, providing sustenance for its human characters, evoking memories of a bygone life for its vampires, and serving as a powerful symbol for the desires and carnal needs the characters harbor. It’s no wonder so many fans revel in at-home parties inspired by the food on the series! With recipes from unforgettable scenes, each entertainingly introduced by True Blood's most compelling characters, these 85 authentic bayou country recipes and 150-plus photos from the series give fans a big taste of Bon Temps.
Mmm. As yummy as Eric on a moonlit night.
