7 Last-Minute Valentine’s Day Treats You’ll Love

Yum! 2

chocolate mousseValentine's Day is tomorrow and you're all ready with your homemade chocolate truffles and pink frosted heart cookies and your red velvet cupcakes, right? NO?!? Yeah, me neither. I spent the weekend running errands, cleaning the bathroom, and trying to sort out our growing pile of mis-matched socks.

But it's not too late, would-be Valentiners! I've compiled here for you some fun, super-easy Valentines food treats to dazzle your hungry loved ones. Here's some breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, and a luscious dessert with just 2 ingredients.

Bacon Hearts. This one couldn't be easier -- or cuter. Just fold the bacon into a heart shape and bake in the oven! Soooo cute, those little hearts. The post has you bake the bacon at 400 degrees, but I've had better luck at 300 for 10-15 minutes. Either way, yum.

Valentine's Day Egg in the Basket. Another adorable idea -- just cut a heart shape using a cookie cutter and drop in an egg.

Check out more Valentines breakfast ideas here.

Bucatini All'Amatriciana. Relax, it's just pasta with a spicy tomato sauce! A vegetarian option I offer you in penance for those bacon hearts. This dish sounds fancy but has just a handful of ingredients. I just texted this recipe to my husband so he can make it for us tonight, that's how simple this recipe is.

Roasted beet salad. Because nothing says Valentines like those dark pink beets! No really, I mean it. And roasted beets are amazing. Skip the tomatoes (since they're sad and pale this time of year anyway) and just do the goat cheese and pecans.

Rolled Latin flank steak. Roll these up with arugula (or spinach, if you're arugula-averse), scallions, and garlic. Quick, simple man food but with a little something special.

Chocolate Mousse of Your Life. Did you see this 2-ingredient chocolate mousse here on The Stir? Take another look. You make it with chocolate and water -- no cream.

Pomegranate Meringue Rose Tart. Psych! This is actually not something I could whip up at the last minute. But I'm gonna sit here and imagine I will. In fact, let's all just spend a moment pretending we made this spectacular dessert. Ooh la la! Okay, back to reality.

Sees Candy. And now, I shall leave the office to buy some chocolate. Okay, ordinarily I would be all about the local, artisan, free-trade chocolate. But for some reason I am craving super-sweet Sees chocolates like crazy! Anyone else?

Are you making anything special for Valentine's Day?
