Drool-Worthy Pulled Pork Perfect for a Party
Every family has those special heirloom recipes they pass down from generation to generation. I come from a family of huge football fans and the recipes that we pass down all revolve around football party food. Seriously, I'm not kidding: In fact, our annual Super Bowl party was something I'd look forward to literally all year.
Here's what we'd do for the big day: We'd make a huge crock pot of chili and then a second crock of BBQ pulled pork. (And then, of course, provide all the chips, dips, and beer your stomach could handle.) You can mess around with coleslaw or pickles for toppings on the pork, but really all you need are big, fresh, toasted buns to sop up all those savory, meaty, barbecuey drippings. Are you drooling yet?
Sadly, I can't make it home for my family's big shebang, but that certainly doesn't mean I'm going to miss out on the pork. Here's how we make it, it's seriously the easiest recipe in the world!
BBQ Pulled Pork in the Crock Pot
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds boneless pork top loin or 3-4 pounds bone-in pork shoulder
- 1.5 cups onions, chopped
- 1 cup good quality beer
- 1 bottle good quality barbecue sauce (like Sweet Baby Rays)
- Extra barbecue sauce for serving

Instructions:
1. Place pork in slow cooker.
2. Combine all other ingredients in bowl, and pour over pork.
3. Cover.
4. Cook for several hours (8-10) on low until meat is fork-tender.
5. Shred pork with two forks.
6. Stir back in sauce.
7. Serve on buns with extra barbecue sauce.
This recipe serves four really hungry people or six people who are watching their weight -- so you'll need to multiply it by the number of people you're planning to feed.
What are you serving on Super Bowl Sunday?

Yum! I love making pulled pork (or chicken) in my crockpot! This superbowl we had nachos instead though.
