Ham. It's one of those foods that you may feel guilty eating large quantities of any time other than Christmas. Or not, I'm not judging. In order to make the most of your ham gorge, you really need to make sure it's a masterpiece. Sure you can buy them ready-made to stuff in your mouth, but try some home cooking to add some extra deliciousness to your Christmas pig.
Here are five different ways to cook up a ham for your Christmas feast. Warning, you will be hungry after reading this.
The Classic Honey Bake
The most simple version of ham that packs a sweet punch, this is the classic your family has come to expect on Christmas day.
1 ham, 5 - 7 pounds
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cups honey
1/3 cup butter
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and place ham in baking pan.
2. Heat corn syrup, honey, and butter in a pan on low heat.
3. Continually brush glaze over ham about every 10 - 15 minutes while baking for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
4. Place ham in broiler and caramelize the glaze for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, and let sit for at least 10 minutes before serving.
