Veteran's Day Meal Deals Are a Great Way to Thank the Military

Veteran's Day DealsThis coming Friday November 11 is Veteran's Day. As a way to honor our nation's heroes, restaurants and shops everywhere are once again offering loads of deals and discounts. As they should! After giving so much time and dedication to our country, these servicemen and women deserve to know how much their sacrifices mean to us -- and the bargains are the perfect way to show them. I just wish these acts of appreciation happened more often.

So let's take a look at this year's Veteran's Day meal deals from 10 major restaurant chains:

Hooters: Enjoy 10 free wings, regular or boneless, with a drink purchase.

Chili's: A choice of one of six meals for free, dine-in only. Gratuity and beverages are not included.

Subway: Free 6-inch flatbread or sub.

Applebee's: Choose from one of seven entrees, including the bacon cheddar cheeseburger and the 7-oz. house sirloin.

Krispy Kreme: Did someone say free donut? Yes, please!

Denny's: From 6 to 10 a.m., enjoy a free Grand Slam breakfast.

Texas Roadhouse: Free lunch from among 10 different options between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Outback Steakhouse: Starting Monday Nov. 7 (that's today!!!), Outback is honoring veterans all week long with a free Bloomin' Onion and any Coke product. That's some high-calorie lovin'!

Uno Chicago Grill: Snag yourself 19.43 percent off your bill (not including alcoholic beverages). A weird percentage, I know! Since Uno's launched its deep dish pizza in 1943, that's how the restaurant chain decides to honor veterans.

T.G.I. Friday's: Buy one entree, get one free. Sounds like a great couple's deal to me.

All the discounts require proof of military service and are available to veterans and active duty military personnel.

Last Veteran's Day, I was anxiously awaiting my boyfriend's return from his last deployment in Afghanistan. This year, I'm happy to say that we'll be spending the holiday together. After seeing these deals, I'm anxious to see where he picks for our Friday night dinner date!

Will you be celebrating Veteran's Day this Friday?
