Take a Peek Inside the Playboy Mansion Kitchen

hugh hefner chef playboyEver wondered what it was like inside the Playboy Mansion? Sure, we all have. But unless you get a personal invitation from Hugh Hefner himself, you'll just have to tune in to the The Girls Next Door reruns, or do like the rest of the men in America: fantasize.

One writer found himself sneaking in the back door by interviewing the mansion's private chef, William S. Bloxsom-Carter. While this guy may have been using this interview as a fab excuse to get intimate with the ladies of Playboy, it turns out he only got as far as dinner.

So, what does a man who needs to keep up his strength (is that what they're calling it these days?) eat?

Lamb chops. Hef likes the lamb chops with half a grapefruit every day, and his mother's recipe for fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Huh. I would have thought oysters, all the way. I definitely wouldn't think eating what your mom made for you would put you in the mood for loving all those ladies.

The really interesting thing (for someone like me who is also a night owl, yet has responsibilities) are the hours Hugh keeps. Apparently the old dude doesn't eat breakfast until around 10:30 or 11:30 (I wish!) and dinner as late as 10:30 at night. You know, when you've created your own empire, and you basically get whatever you want, you can eat like you're a college student.

The ladies don't seem to be watching their cholesterol levels either, as the most popular item for the gals of Hef Manor is cheesecake with strawberries on top.

Seriously, nobody diets up in there? How do these gals stay so big boobed yet thin? Is there so much surgery going on that they can eat whatever they want? And Hef is still kicking and not getting married at 85 years old! Surely Carter is actually feeding them kale and carrot juice for every other meal.

But Carter isn't spilling any weird diet secrets and says he keeps a traditional French kitchen. So no life-extending elixirs then. Now that's a man who wants to keep his job. And since he says his job allows him to play in the "really big sandbox" owned by Hefner, why would he risk it?
