Restaurant Makes Loyal Patron's Dream Come True

chafing dishYou know what awesome restaurant just got awesomer? Morton's Steakhouse. And, no, not because their colossal shrimp just got colossal-er. Because when a man jokingly tweeted that he wanted a steak delivered to him at the airport when he landed in Newark, they did! How's that for unexpected?

Peter Shankman, frequent diner at Morton's and social media entrepreneur with 100,000+ Twitter followers (makes a little more sense now, doesn't it?), sent the following Tweet before boarding his plane in Tampa, Florida: "Hey @Mortons, can you meet me at Newark airport with a porterhouse when I land in two hours? K, thanks. :)"

Then when he touched down in New Jersey, a tuxedo-clad man, who had driven 24 miles, was awaiting him with a juicy porterhouse, an order of colossal shrimp (obvs), potatoes, bread, napkins, and silverware. Pretty cool, huh? Publicity stunt or not, can't say Morton's doesn't care about their customers.

I've had the pleasure of dining at or on Morton's many times in my day. Never on my dime. When I worked in TV, the most important thing to the writers, after writing, was stuffing their insatiable pie holes. Enter Morton's. When it's 7:30 p.m. and you know you're going to be in the office another five hours or so, nothing quite keeps you fueled like a Morton's steak with a side of sauteed button mushrooms or grilled asparagus. Heaven.

If this seems like some weird plug for Morton's or something right now, well, it is. Hey, if it worked for a guy on Twitter, it might just work for a gal on a blog, as well!

Oh, and Morton's, I like my steak done medium. K, thanks :)
