Strawberry Watermelon Coolers With Mint

watermelon coolerAt this point in the summer, we've all had about as much lemonade as we can swallow, but that doesn't mean it's time to move on to more autumnal flavors. These refreshing Strawberry Watermelon Cooler Cocktails combine two of summer's ripest fruits -- strawberries and watermelon -- with zesty lime juice and fresh mint. They're practically perfect for patio-sipping and the best part is: This recipe makes enough for a crowd.


Strawberry Watermelon Coolers (makes 10-12 drinks)


  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed (rind removed)
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups vodka
  • Ice
  • Fresh mint leaves


1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a simmer over moderate heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool.

2. Combine half of sugar syrup, watermelon, strawberries, lime juice, and vodka in blender. Blend until smooth. Transfer to pitcher.

3. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

4. Serve over ice with fresh mint as garnish.
