Marshmallow Creme Hot Fudge Sundae: 'Nuf Said

hot fudge sundaeLet's review some sundae facts. Ice cream? Good. Hot fudge? Good. Marshmallow? Gooooood. And crazy me, I haven't had a hot fudge sundae in years. What the heck is my problem?! They're delicious! I'm so stupid, always ordering something fancy for dessert like espresso cake with olive oil drizzle or some crap. Idiot!

And after finding this particular sundae recipe, I realize just exactly what I've been missing out on. Sundaes are an effortlessly perfect American treat, and I can't wait to try one again for the first time.

Marshmallow Creme Hot Fudge Sundae

Makes two sundaes, takes 10 minutes.

  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant espresso or coffee
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons marshmallow creme (aka Fluff)
  • Vanilla ice cream (I prefer Breyer's Vanilla Bean)

  • Combine chocolate, cocoa powder, and espresso in a large metal bowl.
  • Bring cream just to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat; pour over chocolate mixture.
  • Let sit for 30 seconds, then whisk until smooth and glossy.
  • Fold marshmallow creme into chocolate.
  • Serve warm over ice cream
  • Top with sprinkles and a cherry on top (duh!)
