America's Biggest Fast Food Cities Have Nothing to Be Ashamed Of

fast food mcdonald'sIs there anything not to love about fast food? I think not. Really, the name says it all. It's fast. It's food. And when you're in a time crunch, aside from the possible high-calorie overload and slight food coma following your meal, it's convenient. Here in bustling New York -- there's a fast food restaurant every 1.267 yards. (OK, I estimated.)

So you can imagine my surprise when I took a look at Bundle's list of the top 10 cities in the U.S. that spent money on national fast food chains, and the Big Apple wasn't one of them. Honestly, I couldn't believe it.

Take a look at the list of biggest fast food cities -- is yours on the list?

10. Omaha, Nebraska

9. Baton Rouge, Louisiana

8. Raleigh, North Carolina

7. Chandler, Arizona

6. Kansas City, Missouri

5. Fort Wayne, Indiana

4. Akron, Ohio

3. Wichita, Kansas

2. Madison, Wisconsin

... and the No. 1 Fast food city is (drum-roll please):

1. Plano, Texas

Now before all of you who live in any of the aforementioned cities get all defensive -- saying things like, "I promise we're not all fat here in Plano!" or "But Pizza Hut was founded here in Wichita!" -- don't fret. I understand. In fact, I bet you're all healthy as horses!

The fact of the matter is that in today's good ol' America, fast food isn't just all greasy hamburgers and French fries. There are healthy options at all of the restaurants included in the survey. Whether it's swapping out your French fries for some apple slices when you're frequenting the Golden Arches or leaving off the cheese on your six-inch Subway club, being a fast foodie is about the choices you make, not how much you spend.

If you ask me, I think living in one of these cities is an honor, considering how many others you beat out for the top spots! It's so much better to be on this list than the worst dressed cities in America, wouldn't you agree?

Do you live in one of America's biggest fast food cities?
