Eating 25,000 Big Macs Makes You Skinny & Famous!

big macA man in Wisconsin named Don Groske is about to eat his 25,000th McDonald's Big Mac at 4 p.m. EST this very afternoon. Incidentally, today also marks the 39th anniversary of the first time he tasted the iconic burger; since then, he's consumed two Big Macs a day -- and sometimes more!

You know what's so refreshing about this story? All too often, we're presented with frightening statistics about the rise of obesity and obesity-related illnesses in America and blah, blah, death, blah, blah. Frankly, this information is a bit of a buzz-kill. Can't we just consume our fatty fast food in peace?

This Don Groske story, however, allows us to indulge without a side of guilt ...

... because if there's anything we can learn from his example, it's that eating an egregious amount of Big Macs can actually do a body good. Just look at him! The 57-year-old corrections officer is skinny; you would never know he's consumed 75,000 hamburger buns and 50,000 meat patties just by looking at him. Plus, the newspapers are all reporting that his cholesterol level is 156. (A number less than 200 is desirable.) Obviously, Groske is the epitome of health!

Plus, he's famous. And, who doesn't want to be famous? He's in the Guinness Book of World Records for consuming the most Big Macs ever (at the time, a disappointing 23,000). He had a cameo as "Big Mac Enthusiast" talking to debbie-downer Morgan Spurlock in the most depressing documentary of all time, Super Size Me (see clip below). And every time Groske hits another Big Mac mile-marker, he gets to go on the local news and talk shows to talk about it! His obsession is a gift that keeps on giving.

And stay tuned, because if he lives until the age of 86, the total will become 40,000 -- and can you even imagine the media frenzy that will ensue? Maybe we should elect him President! Obviously, consuming record amounts of fast food and living to brag about it is something we Americans hold in high esteem.
