ron swanson turkey burgerIf you're a fan of the hilarious show Parks and Recreation, no doubt you got a chuckle last week when Ron Swanson described his ideal sandwich. When asked by Rob Lowe's character if he's ever eaten a turkey burger, Swanson replied:

Is that a fried turkey leg inside a grilled hamburger? If so, yes. Delicious.

Apparently, I wasn't the only person who thought the idea of a fried turkey leg inside a burger was pure genius. The folks at Eater made Swanson's vision a reality -- check it out!

Eater's fried-turkey-leg-in-a-burger recipe is brilliant in its simplicity: They deep fried a 1 2/3-pound turkey leg in a pot of oil until the skin was crispy. Then, they concealed the leg within five pounds of ground beef, baked it first in the oven, and later finished it on the grill to obtain that smoky char. Served on an entire loaf of bread with a bottle of ketchup for dipping, this edible creation is truly something Ron Swanson would be proud to consume.

After all, this is the guy who loves breakfast foods and deviled eggs, but hates vegan bacon. Surely, he can get behind this 5-pound meaty monstrosity with deep fried poultry hidden inside.

If you can stomach 'em, check out the amazing step-by-step photos of how to make your very own "Ron Swanson turkey burger" on Eater. I seriously doubt you've seen anything else like it ...
