Chipotle Goes Asian = Best Food News Ever

ChipotleWhen it comes to fast food joints, Chipotle blows everyone else out of the water on many accounts. From serving mostly sustainable organic food to just dishing up some kick-ass Tex-Mex, they set an awesome example for what fast food can and should be.

Now, in addition to recently adding kids' meals (yippee!), they're adding a whole new cuisine. That's right, Chipotle is going Asian.

Don't rush out to your local store and order up kung pao chicken quite yet though, they'll just look at you strangely. For now, they're test marketing one store to the lucky diners in Washington, D.C. The restaurant, set to open this summer, will go by the name ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen -- a little long, but Chipotle by any other name has still got to be good. According to a press release from the company:

The ShopHouse menu will pair the bold and complex flavors of southeast Asia with fresh, sustainably raised ingredients; grilled and braised meats, a variety of fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, spicy sauces, and an array of garnishes. Customers will move along a service line and customize their meal according to flavor preference and diet, in a format similar to the one that has become the hallmark of Chipotle's success.

Yum! Even more delicious to contemplate: Which cuisine will Chipotle tackle next? My vote is for Greek, if you're reading Steve Ells.

Are you excited to know Chipotle is testing out an Asian chain of restaurants?
