National Clean Out Your Fridge Day

Bet you didn't know today (Nov. 14) is National Clean Out Your Fridge Day. (Seriously, I couldn't make something like that up if I tried.) MomCooks has some great tips from Frigidaire to help you disinfect and organize: combine similar ingredients, throw out stuff that's been around for a year, etc. I guess this would be a good time to get rid of those expired eggs from a few months ago. Ugh.

I'm afraid to ask, but what's the grossest thing right now in your fridge?

Okay, I feel I can be honest with you but you guys have to promise not to judge me. I would have to say it has to be the mashed potatoes that I forgot where back there. I noticed them last weekend when searching and have not been able to talk myself into taking them out. Ewwwwww yuck! Remember when CafeMom did the whole take a picture of your fridge way back when? I was too embarrased to do it.

i have some dill that a grew this summer, and never used, it is still in a baggie and it is November. perhaps i should throw it out, but it still looks fresh!

I can not have that... My box is cleaned out 2times a week, I throw away things that are wilted or that the kids did not cover... as for food we do not really have left overs. My dh takes it to work.... and I clean my box with warm sudsy water with a drop of essential oil for getting rid of yucky bugs at the end of each week.

omg, I made macaroni on the fourth of July, and it made it's way to the back of the fridge...I have a really high top shelf and couldn't see it...I didn't find it till late August....

but as of right now, an enchilada from Monday Night's dinner

Hahah! I had a bottle of mango juice that was shoved in the back. It was growing mold! I also have Thai food that I've been meaning to throw out and really expired ketchup. I accidentally ate some of the ketchup and it tasted really weird and tangy.

I'm going to clean the fridge now. :)

ummm well I guess I would have to say it's my children lmao!!!! My kids are allways cleaning out my fridge.... unfortunately they hide it in the cupbords! (lord help me please!)

To answer your question I would have to say the grosest think is probly what (I think) is a duck breast from last years hunt. My son hid it in the back of the fridge on the very bottem.... cringe!
