Julie Ryan Evans

super bowl snacksThe countdown is on, and if you're like most of the country, you're getting ready for the Super Bowl. Whether you're planning a party or just watching it alone at home, what you eat during the game is usually as memorable as who wins, so you want to make it good.

So for your planning purposes, here are seven of the best Super Bowl recipes we've found over the years. They're so delicious that no matter who wins -- the Steelers or the Packers -- something good will come out of it all.

Guacamole Creamy, zesty, and even quite healthy thanks to the avocados. Your guests can scoop this up with chips, veggies, or crackers. The prepackaged stuff just isn't the same as this fresh and easy recipe.

Wings Football and wings (for whatever reason) just go together. This recipe produces some pretty wonderful baked ones that are spiced up with garlic and hot sauce. Make sure you have napkins a plenty.

Guinness Cupcakes Chances are there will be beer at most Super Bowl events. Why not add some more with beer inside cupcakes? The dark flavor of Guinness plus chocolate equals one incredible cupcake.

BBQ Pulled Pork This is the perfect main dish for the event, especially because it's made in the crock pot! Just make it in the morning, and you'll be ready to watch the game without interruption ... except to refill your plate.

Taco Dip This goes great with all your dippables from the guacamole, so they're a good duo to serve together. I guarantee this will be the first thing to disappear from your snack table.

Easy Artichoke Dip This dish couldn't be simpler. It contains just four ingredients and is great served with crackers and celery sticks.

Pigs in a Blanket This is a fancier take on the original. And really, how can you not serve them for a game involving the old pigskin?
