Slow Cooker Pulled Pork BBQ

The ingredients for this BBQ Pulled Pork recipe are simple and inexpensive. And using your slow cooker means you have an instant one-pot meal -- one that cooks in the pot and serves from the same pot.

Just lay out some buns and toppings like onions, pickles, and slaw, and let the meal serve itself.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork from

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Few dashes of hot sauce, like Sriracha
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 4 pounds boneless pork butt, cut into 4 pieces

In a 6-quart slow cooker, stir together the first 8 ingredients.

Season the pork with the salt and pepper and add to the slow cooker, turning to coat completely with the sauce.

Cover and cook on low heat for 8-10 hours, or until pork is very tender.

Remove the pork to a cutting board and use two forks to thoroughly shred. Return the meat to the cooker and allow it to soak up all the yummy sauce.

Allow guests to spoon the pork onto buns or crusty rolls and top with the toppings of their choice.
