Is your family sick of cereal every morning for breakfast? I like my Corn Flakes as much as the next girl, but sometimes change is a good thing. That's why I look forward to brunch on the weekends. Last week I posted an easy French Toast recipe that you make the night before. This week Peajewel wrote in with a yummy-sounding, savory alternative: Egg Sausage Strata. And guess what? It's just as easy!
Egg Sausage Strata
1 dozen eggs, beaten
1 2-cup package of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dry mustard
6 pieces of white bread, crust removed and cut in cubes (it works better if you use bread that is not too fresh)
1 tube of Bob Evans breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 cup of milk
Mix all ingredients together and pour into an oven-safe pan. Cover with aluminum foil overnight. In the morning preheat oven to 375 and bake with cover on for 1 hour.
