After a long day of filming their final Breaking Dawn scenes, Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning are looking for a good meal. And of course, Mr. Perfect Body Taylor can't eat just anywhere. So where do the two Hollywood young hotties head off to?
Raising Canes, a local southern fast-food chain that only has four things on the menu. Four options? They must be pretty darn good.
So good, in fact, that they've been repeat offenders. Other branches of the chain are getting a bit jealous, posting signs outside their restaurants saying: "Twilight cast come feed on us!"
... and it's worked. Taylor took the bait and went into a new location last week.
So the question remains: What's for lunch?
Chicken tenders. Mmmm, I am jealous on the account of two reasons: 1. Never have I heard of a fast food joint that only sells chicken tender dishes (please, come to the northeast!) and 2. I haven't caved to a chicken tenders craving in a while (sigh, what I sacrifice for my favorite slim-fitting jeans).
The succulent appearance of Raising Cane's crispy chicken fried strips bring me back to days at the local baseball park in the hot sun with a medium french fries and my dad. Kids (and adults, too) love chicken fingers. Hell, I still do.
Let's look at the options:
- The Box: 4 Chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, 1 Cane's Sauce, Toast, and a regular drink.
- The 3 Finger: 3 chicken fingers, fries, 1 Cane's Sauce, Toast, and a regular drink.
- The Caniac Combo: 6 chicken fingers (I'm getting full just thinking about that), fries, coleslaw, 2 Cane's sauces, toast, and a large drink.
- The Sandwich: 3 Chicken Fingers, Cane's Sauce, Lettuce, Kaiser Roll, fries, and a regular drink.
For the carb conscious (I'm not sure if calorie intake is a considerable factor after walking through these doors) -- coleslaw, fries or toast can be interchanged or subbed out for an extra Cane's sauce.
Hmmm, this sauce seems like it's in pretty high demand. According to Cane's website -- the owner knows best:
[Todd Graves] loves to tell the story about Raising Cane's -- but just don't ask him 'What's in the sauce?' He'll never tell!
Well today's your lucky day. It looks like food.com has replicated the secrets of the sauce.
What you'll need:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ground black pepper
Simply whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl. However -- WAIT TO EAT! And the biggest secret of all for the perfect batch of Raising Cane's sauce? The flavors need to meld together for at least 24 hours.
You may not get to dine with Dakota or Taylor, but at least you can dine like them.

That recipe for the sauce is not like the canes sauce. It takes like it JUST a tiny bit. You have to taste the real sauce. I have no clue whats the little secret ingredient is but its delicious. When I was in high school, some friends worked there and they could not tell what was in the sauce or they'd be fired. Canes is a big deal here in Louisiana. I used to not like the sauce, but its slowly grown on me and they make the best lemonade. If you ever get the chance, eat there. SO and I split the Caniac combo. (:
Sounds yummy
Sounds good.
I miss french fries sometimes.
Breaking Dawn never filmed in Florida. If Raising Cane's is in Louisiana, I'm pretty sure they ate in Louisiana, where a good portion of Breaking Dawn was filmed.
