The two have been spotted in several cafes together in Brooklyn and Nashville, and they don't just order up any cup of joe. Their drink of choice is a maple syrup latte.

Um, that sounds delicious. I'll have what they're having.

Unfortunately, the pair have been enjoying this flavor at local java shops, and nationwide chains (*cough* Starbucks *cough*) have yet to offer it. Keyword being yet. 

Never underestimate the power of a celebrity. I mean, because they've ordered maple syrup lattes several times, here I am writing about it, and now have the urge for trying out the flavor myself. But instead of going to the Starbucks across the street like I usually do for my afternoon caffeine pick-me-up, I'll willingly walk the five blocks to the local cafe so I can fulfill that craving.

And that's how trends start.

So my advice to Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and all of those other big corporations is to start tapping into some trees and offering up maple syrup as a flavor. I would absolutely switch my seasonal pumpkin spice latte for a maple syrup one. Now that would be a great cold weather flavor.

In the meantime, when needing to simultaneously satisfy my sweet tooth and get my caffeine fix, I'll either walk the extra blocks for the latte or perhaps keep a tiny bottle of Vermont syrup in my desk drawer to zest up boring coffee.
