Kim Kardashian Blings Out With $1M Birthday Cake

nothing on her 30th!Kim Kardashian has been ringing in her 30th birthday all week long at various clubs across the country (of course she's one of those people who celebrates her birthday all week instead of just a single day).

Though today is her actual birthday (whoopity doo), she's ending her Tour de Kim with a million-dollar bang on Saturday night.

That bang being in the form of a cake. A million-dollar cake.

Good lord, can this girl get anymore ridiculous?

A New York jeweler combined forces with a famous restaurateur to bake a diamond-encrusted birthday cake for Kim's party at Glo Nightclub in Westbury, New York on Saturday night (now you know where she's partying, for those that want to crash).

The cake is going to be accented with loose diamonds, worth over a million bucks. They're trying to break the record for the most expensive cake ever made, which is currently being held by a $1.65 million treat.

I could think of, oh, about a million other ways to spend that million (hey Kim, ever heard of a charity donation?), but for a birthday cake to cost that much is beyond outrageous -- even for a celebrity. She could have still had her diamonds and eaten her cake, too, but for a fraction of the price. Edible sugar diamonds would have added the bling without the buck (packets run between $5 to $15) and guests wouldn't have to worry about accidentally swallowing the price of a small house.

Even if you had the money, would you spend over a million dollars on a birthday cake?

There is just no way I could justify spending that much on a cake. Even if I was as rich as her. That's just ridiculous. She is basically throwing it away.

Good to see the rich and dumb spending their $$ on crap. Why is it these idiots keep spending their fortunes so frivolously???? Not doing some good with it and paying it back to a worthy cause?

Firstly, I literally have no idea why she is famous. She is SO overhyped, played out, and caked on makeup, it's scary. Second, I agree with above, people in our country are trying to just get by and using food stamps but she's eating a cake with diamonds.... right. Thoughtless, selfish, self-absorbed, and thoroughly ridiculous. Let's now stop reporting/talking about her in hopes she disappears.

Why in the world is she paying retail for loose diamonds. If I had her kind of money there's no way you would catch me paying that kind of money for loose diamonds. I would find a family connection and get them on the cheap. Then have the bakery make the cake and ADVERTISE it as the worlds most expensive cake. People aren't always as stupid as you think they are.

Uh, c'mon, do you really think she's paying for OR keeping the diamonds? Where does say that? I'm sure the diamonds are just on loan, will be guarded by bodyguards from Harry Winston or whatever jeweler, and be safely returned when she's done blowing out the candles. Duh. It's called publicity.

Jen, whether it's called publicity or just plain stupidity - it's unnecessary all the way. I agree 100% with ocmommy2two and just2busymom. Even if she is a home wrecker/husband stealer, etc., Angelina Jolie has it right. These people are blessed with their talent (not so much in Kim's case) and their beauty, they should be using their extravagant incomes for good. Build a bridge or buy some AIDS medicine for a village in Africa! C'mon, people! (Kanye, I'm looking at you too.)

This makes me sick, seriously. We are a double income family with a baby and another on the way, and we're super struggling to keep our home from going into foreclosure. And here she is with $1m worth of diamonds on a friggin cake?!
