Trick or drink,
Smell my feet
Mix me something good to drink
If you don't, I don't care
You just won't get into my underwear.
Okay, so it's a little different than the version you probably sang as a child (and I kinda suck at poetry), but just because we're adults doesn't mean we can't enjoy our Halloween candy -- it's just that now it can come in a different (and even more delicious) form, candy cocktails. These 8 liquid sweets will give you a little buzz to go along with that sugar high.
Liquid Snickers: This candy bar is one of my faves, so the thought of it in cocktail form makes me a happy girl. Pour creme de cacao, Irish cream, and Frangelico liqueur over ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass. Top with light cream, stir, and serve.
Almond Joy Martini: Like Almond Joys? Then you'll love this fancy version of the candy. Shake 1 oz. each of coconut-flavored rum (Parrot Bay or Malibu), Frangelico, Godiva or other chocolate-flavored liqueur, Hershey's chocolate syrup, and vodka. Add 4 oz. half and half or light cream, shake with ice, then strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with shredded coconut.
Candy Corn: Since so many of you guys showed your love for candy corn (blech) in a previous post, I added this specifically for you. Mix equal parts of Baileys, vanilla liqueur, and butterscotch schnapps, then pour into a shot glass.
Chocolatini: Chocolate addicts will love this dessert drink. Shake 1 1/4 oz. Baileys, 1 oz vodka, and 1/4 oz Godiva chocolate liqueur in a martini shaker over ice. Line a chilled martini glass with chocolate syrup, strain, and garnish with chocolate shavings.
Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail: One of my favorite bars makes an exceptionally delicious version -- in a martini shaker, mix Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, DeKuyper butterscotch liqueur, Godiva chocolate liqueur, creme de cocoa, and a splash of Baileys. Double dip the martini glass in Nutella and chocolate syrup, then pour. There's no wrong way to eat drink a Reese's (cocktail).
Tootsie Roll: Pour 2.5 oz of Kahlua over ice and fill with orange juice. Stir. Tastes just like a tootsie roll.
Jolly Rancher: In a shaker, mix 1.5 oz melon liqueur, 0.5 oz blueberry schnapps, with ice, and then strain into an old-fashioned glass over ice cubes. Fill with sweet and sour, add grenadine for color, and stir. Don't forget the cherry on top.
Peppermint Pattie: One part crème de cacao, one part crème de menthe, and a small splash of Stoli Vanilla. Shake, then pour over ice.
Are you a fan of candy cocktails? What's your favorite?
