Ripe, fresh watermelon is typically the perfect ending to a summer picnic in the great outdoors. And, watermelon cake is even more special ...
This adorable rolled version has a a strawberry-flavored interior and a green tea exterior. The whole thing is rolled with vanilla icing and dotted with chocolate "seeds."
It's almost too cute to eat.
What do you bring for dessert on a picnic?

OMG, like! I usually avoid dessert because everyone brings dessert . . . but if that's my job than a strawberry shortcake or something else that takes advantage of the fresh fruits available.
This cake is SUPER COOL! Love it.

I want to know what Lillyjoan wants to know! Off to Google...
Man! The cake on the Flickr page is from a bakery with several locations here in California... I am going to see if I can ask tehm about this but we might be on our own, trying to figure it out! They call it "watermelon sponge cake"

Not a fan of green tea. What else could be used for the green area?
