Lunch is not my favorite meal. I'm usually rushing around, and to be honest, I'd much rather eat a big breakfast or a home-cooked dinner. I can only eat so many salads and we all know how bad fast food is for us.
So what's a hungry girl to do?
Every week at the grocery store I toss a couple frozen entrees from Lean Cuisine into my cart. Did you know they have more than 120 varieties? Some of them can be pretty gross, but many of them are actually really good -- especially when you take into account that most entrees are around 300 calories.
Here are some of our favorites (and some of our not-so-favorites) ...
Are you craving pizza?
This BBQ-Recipe Chicken Pizza has a thin crust that gets crispy on the bottom, the sauce tastes great, and although it's light on cheese, it's super-satisfying.
Are you a vegetarian?
The Butternut Squash Ravioli comes in a light cream sauce with walnuts, snap peas, and carrots. It's high in fiber and even meat eaters will enjoy this.
Are you starving?
Don't get the Quesadilla. (Or if you do, you'd better get two.) It's tasty, for sure, but you will be hungry an hour later. It's just not enough to fill you up.
Do you want comfort food?
This Roasted Turkey Breast is served with a light gravy, cornbread dressing, and cinnamon apples. It reminds me of old-fashioned TV dinners -- but WAY better.
Do you like toasty sandwiches?
Don't get the Philly Style Steak and Cheese Panini. They get an "A" for effort, but it's just not the same.
In the mood for Chinese Food?
If you want savory, this will hit the spot with strips of beef, flat noodles, and a sweet and spicy Asian-style sauce.
Depending upon your grocery store, you can pick up a Lean Cuisine entree for around $4 apiece. They are well worth it!
