Fire up the blender, summer's here!
If you feel your repertoire is not quite up to speed, grab a copy of 101 Blender Drinks by Kim Haasarud and get ready to host a summer fest.
From the Watermelon-Basil Margarita (yum!) to the Pimm's Freeze, there really is a drink in those 101 options for everyone's taste.
Even my husband, who is a hard sell on the frozen drinks, found an icy alcoholic drink that we both loved and also feel is somehow good for us, what with all the antioxidants.
The Antiox Pom Crush
I whipped up a batch of the crush this weekend (as seen in the photo) and it was a hit -- berry-rific, but not too sweet in spite of the cherry vodka.
Here's what you need:
- 10 blueberries
- 4 black cherries
- 2 ounces acai juice
- 1 1/2 ounces SKYY cherry vodka
- 1 ounce pomegranate juice
Combine blueberries, cherries, acai juice, vodka, and pomegranate juice in a blender and blend for about 5 seconds. Add about 1 cup ice and blend until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass.
