3 Delicious All Natural Indulgences

all natural indulgencesI have such a serious sweet tooth I sometimes feel my day is not complete if I haven't tasted chocolate. While I choose all-natural ingredients when I bake, sometimes I don't have the time to make everything from scratch and monitor every single ingredient.

Lucky for me, I've recently discovered a few alternatives to spending a lot of time in the kitchen to satisfy my need for sweets:

Ice Box Bakery Cookie Dough

I love eating cookie dough, which makes it very difficult to convince my daughter she shouldn't be doing it as she watches me shoving it in my gullet. But ever since last year's cookie dough recall, it's been only cookies from scratch at my house. That's why I'm thrilled about Ice Box Bakery's all-natural cookie dough in eight different flavors. (My favorite is double dutch chocolate.)

In addition to feeling good about the ingredients, the handy slice guide on the package makes this dough almost as easy to make as the pre-formed ball version that isn't nearly as safe for you and your family to eat.

Not only are there only eight ingredients in these organic snack bars, they're gluten-free! Sweetened with agave and organic brown rice syrup, I get my chocolate fix with the Espresso Coffee Bar and give my little girl the Cranberry Crunch Bar.

Bear Naked Apple Parfait

My husband eats Bear Naked granola for breakfast every day, so this is an easy recipe to whip up using the all-natural granola since we always have some in the cabinet.

What You'll Need:

  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cup of your favorite Bear Naked granola
  • 2 1/2 cups of your favorite Stonyfield organic yogurt

In a bowl, combine diced apples, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

To assemble parfait, place 2 tablespoons granola at bottom of 4 (12-ounce) cups. Add a layer of 1/4 cup yogurt and 2 tablespoons apple mixture to each cup. Repeat layers a second time and top each cup with 2 tablespoons yogurt and 1 tablespoon granola for garnish.
