Making the Internet rounds this week is a commercial from McDonald's France showing a gay teen eating in a McDonald's with his father, who doesn't yet know that his son is gay.
The ad is one in a series that uses the slogan "Venez come vouse etes" (which means, "Come As You Are" -- my French is a little dusty, too); previous ads with a similar "everyone is welcome" message have featured flirty senior citizens and a mouthy young daughter.
I can't believe I'm about to defend the corporate fast food giant, but I'm kinda liking the inclusive theme of this advertising campaign.
What do you think? Would this campaign fly in the US?
