Anna Getty's Easy Green Organic ($16.47) goes to the top of my cookbook stack -- and not just for the pretty pictures.

Getty's knowledge and expertise go way beyond cooking and recipes. She also penned an organic Christmas book (put that on my list) and a pre- and post-natal yoga DVD, so she knows all about healthy, green living.

See why my inner organic chef loves it ...

It explains:

  • Why going organic is so important as well as eating hormone-free dairy and meat
  • How to decode the labels
  • How to switch to an all-organic kitchen
  • Money-saving tips
  • Greening your kitchen with tips and gadgets
  • Composting ... green DIY cleaners ... and eco facts to boot

I think I just had a mini ecorgasim.

Plus, you get great recipes beginning with starters, soups, salads, mains, sides, and ending with sweets.

Stand-out dishes include: Pan-fried sake shrimp; creamy corn chowder; red quinoa salad; garden herb and garlic clay pot chicken; baked purple cauliflower with rosemary and garlic; and berries with basil and lavender-honey yogurt drizzle.

Do you eat organic food?
