This is a super popular bread recipe, according to the Internets. Originally discussed in The New York Times via Mark Bittman, I finally got around to testing it out thanks to the Steamy Kitchen.

Jaden Hair convinced me this would be a great recipe to cook with my 4-year-old, as her blog post title read, No Knead Bread: so easy a 4-year-old could make it. Straight-forward, yes? Complete with photos of her son whipping up this light and fluffy bread. Totally cute, check it out.

You know what? She was right.

With only the smallest amount of supervision (and of course all of the hot stove handling), my daughter made this loaf of crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside bread. We had it straight out of the oven and later with sandwiches, and it was delish!

We followed the advice on the Steamy Kitchen and used 3/4 tablespoon kosher salt, but did not sub whole wheat flour, although I will in future bread-making.

My daughter was so proud when it came out of the oven she could hardly wait to take a bite and promptly declared it, "Yummy."

It was not only so easy a 4-year-old could make it, it was so easy I might stop buying sandwich bread at the grocery store.
