We couldn't possibly have ground beef as our ingredient of the week and not mention hamburgers. I just wouldn't feel right about it.
We always bought pre-made blue cheese-stuffed burgers from Whole Foods -- that is, until I figured out how to make my own. This easy recipe is perfect for a backyard barbecue or Memorial Day cookout.
Blue Cheese-Stuffed Burgers
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 ounces blue cheese
Combine beef with garlic, Worcestershire, red pepper, salt, and pepper. Divide into 8 equal portions, shaping each portion into a thin, flat patty. Onto center of each of 4 patties, arrange 1 ounce of blue cheese. Top each with another patty, pressing edges to seal. Grill.
What's your favorite burger topping?
