Tell me about your blog?
We created Endless Simmer to satisfy our insatiable desire to think about food constantly. We're basically somewhere between regular consumers of food pop culture and total snobs; we can just as easily enjoy offal or destroy a Dunkin' Donuts (fake) egg and cheese croissant. Clearly, we just can't keep our mouths shut.
What's in your fridge right now?
Well, a lot of, well, a lot. But it will soon be gone! I'm heading on a two-week vacation to Japan and South Korea so you caught me in the rare act of ditching food from the fridge.
Eggs ... especially eggs from the farmers' market. I love eggs any time of the day and I can spruce up any leftovers by sliding a fried egg on top. In fact, I can't think of anything that can't be bettered by an egg: Salad, pasta, grains, mashed potatoes ...
What's the weirdest thing in there?
Homemade (not by me!) peppermint marshmallows. Apparently marshmallows are a natural for High Tea. And let me tell you, they're f*cking delicious. Best marshmallows ever. They're so good I wouldn't even want to puncture them with a stick and burn them over a fire.
What's the most embarrassing thing in there?
Really old veggie-heavy baked ziti. Um, I think it's been in there for a month ... or longer. Oops!
What do you wish was in there?
Nothing. Dude, I have so much to do before my trip and I really don't feel like cleaning out the fridge. Ugh. I wish I could pull a twitch of the nose and it'd all be gone.
Favorite part of the fridge?
The butter bin. Everything else is a cluttered mess. I know I can always find butter in its special place of honor.
Anything weird or interesting you want to tell us about your fridge?
It's always full. Even if there's seemingly nothing to eat, it's always full. Damn my Tupperware collection.
What's on the outside of your fridge?
Wedding invitations. SO. MANY. WEDDING. INVITATIONS. And pictures of other people's children.
Going to baseball games
Riding bike rides in the nice weather
Playing outside after work/school
Going for walks outside
