There's nothing like a side of bigotry to go with your noodles ... A Thai restaurant in Australia refused service to a blind customer because the staff misheard him and thought his "guide dog" was really a "gay dog." Apparently, a gay dog was so offensive to the restaurant -- which has a "Guide Dogs Welcome" sign displayed in its window -- that it refused the pair entry.
And the story gets even more inane. In a statement to South Australia's Equal Opportunity Tribunal, the restaurant's owners defended the staff saying that they "genuinely believed that Nudge was an ordinary pet dog which had been desexed to become a gay dog."
What total morons.
If there's any silver lining to all this nonsense, the restaurant has been fined and ordered to give the customer a written apology and $1,400 in compensation.
What do you think about this ridiculous story?
