Flickr photo by basheertomeVegans, do your happy dance! You'll soon be able to enjoy the delicious, albeit fattening, Starbucks Frappuccinos.
The popular coffee chain will be adding soy-based, vegan-friendly frappuccinos to their menu starting on May 4, though stores in Los Angeles have already been serving it up. And, so far, it's been a huge hit (duh).
Vegan blog Quarry Girl reports, "The old method to make them used a base that contained dairy, but in the new way, you basically add a thickening syrup to base of milk/flavour syrups/coffee depending on the drink, so as long as the drink is made with soy it’s vegan. The coffee and creme frappuccino bases are vegan, however, the light one is not -- and all the other inclusions and toppings are vegan except for whip and caramel drizzle."
Ha, now all you vegans will understand the insane temptation of those frozen drinks like the rest of us. Right before bikini weather too.
For all you vegans out there, are you going to try the new vegan frappuccinos?

Coffee and therefore Starbucks are not my thing - but veganism IS, and it's getting hot out, and hurray!
