One more step towards world domination ... Facebook is now trying to make it possible to do grocery shopping on the site.
I was overly excited when I first tried Fresh Direct (an online shopping site), but this just takes it to a whole new level.
Your favorite stores' fan pages will soon have the option to add a shopping application to their page. Once added, customers can browse the products under a "Shop Now" tab. And you can share your favorite products with your Facebook friends, because I'm sure they'll care what is in your pantry (I foresee an addition to my "most annoying people on Facebook" list). However, the actual money transaction happens on the company's actual website.
I'm not so sure about linking my social networking life to my eating habits. I can see it now ... my friends messaging each other "Oh my god, did you see that Brittny ordered a bag of Doritos and a box of Hostess cupcakes? I thought she was trying to lose weight!"
Yeah, that doesn't work for me.
What do you think about this new development? Would you do your grocery shopping on Facebook?
