Some Luck o' the Irish
DO
Dress up the littlest ones. You only get a few years of making clothing choices before they start demanding pink tutus or stripping off every pocket tee you wrestle them into. So dress your babies in green! Preferably something like this handmade leprechaun outfit.
DON'T
Dress them up like slutty leprechauns.
DO
Have a fun game planned for the kiddos, like a St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt.
DON'T
Include items from the creepy neighbor's house who is always going on about his "Lucky Charms."
DO
Attempt an authentic Irish menu using simple recipes for corned beef, cabbage, or shepherd's pie.
DON'T
Make your kids eat blood pudding. Do you know what's in that stuff???
DO
Enjoy a libation in the spirit of the season (safely, in moderation, not while operating heavy machinery). After all, a relaxed mommy and daddy are a happy mommy and daddy.
DON'T
Even think about taking them to that fantastic Irish pub at the end of the parade route. You know, the one that suddenly becomes clothing optional after the last bagpiper has piped?
Happy St. Patrick's Day CafeMoms!
