All right all right all right, Matthew McConaughey must be on top of the world right now (no offense, James Cameron). He's finally won an Academy Award for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he's kicking ass on True Detective, he's got a gorgeous wife and three beautiful children ... does life really get any better?
Hard to say how he was feeling when he took the stage to give his thank-you speech. Granted, the dude seemed ecstastic, and part of this could be blamed on me being bleary-eyed and somewhat buzzed after a way-too-long telecast, but it was definitely one of the most, um, interesting speeches we heard that nighrt.
His hero is ... himself in the future? Does that make him modest or arrogant? And of course no one can stop talking about the fact that he mentioned God in his speech. Seriously, this is what people are talking about?
