Sure, Amanda Bynes spent the morning behind bars, but the former Nickelodeon star should really look on the bright side. Of course being arrested for DUI after allegedly sideswiping a police car in West Hollywood this morning wasn't the best way to start her day (at 3 a.m.), but at least she was wearing makeup for the mug shot! I mean, look at the average intoxicated celeb arrest photo: Bad skin, dark undereye circles, crazy hair.

Seriously, Amanda -- it even looks like you just had your hair blown out! Talk about good luck. (Although her hair color is troubling. Pink? Salmon? Silver?)

Apparently Bynes was trying to pass a cop car in her black BMW but, her sense of spatial relations being compromised, didn't clear the cruiser.

Drunk celeb swipes cop car ... damn, that had to be the easiest arrest ever. Like shootin' fish in a barrel!

One thing we know about George Clooney, he is hot takes global politics seriously. Oh sure, he's known for his Oceans movies, is ridick handsome, and dates wrestlers. But he's not afraid to talk about his strong political convictions and he chooses some of his projects based on those convictions.

Which is why I love that he's just been arrested. He, his father Nick, Virginia Rep. Jim Moran, and others were protesting in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C. this morning.  Not to put the cart before the horse, but I think this is one of the reasons I love George Clooney's work so much. His political activism gives some of his more serious films more gravity and credibility. And I think it makes him a better actor. But let's get into why George cares about Sudan.

Yesterday Brooke Mueller was formally charged with felony possession of Cocaine stemming from her arrest back in December. As you may remember, she got a little too wild at a Colorado nightclub, possibly got into a girl fight, and then the cops found some white powdery stuff ... to make matters worse she apparently had a little too much of the white stuff. So Brooke was also charged with the intent to distribute. Intent to distribute! Really? Can we get a collective: Oh, come on.

Charlie Sheen defended his ex immediately after her arrest. Admit it, you expected no less, right? Charlie is nothing, if not an stand up guy and eloquent speaker. And how could you argue with his reasoning when he told TMZ:

With the child support I give her ... she's gonna deal drugs? Never gonna happen."

    Ha! What a guy.

Amber Portwood is in trouble, Teen Mom fans. She's been arrested yet again and get this: She'll likely stay in jail through the holidays. According to the Herald Bulletin, she was arrested for violating the terms of her probation. Two weeks ago she started a drunken brawl with a stranger at IHOP. And the Teen Mom star has also failed to nab that GED and complete her anger management classes. Sigh, Amber.

Something is definitely up with this teen mom -- but it may not all be her fault. Earlier this month she revealed that she'd been diagnosed with bipolar disorder years ago. This is one mom who needs some serious treatment. So I have to wonder, is jail really the best place for Amber right now?

In today's celebrity news, Michael Lohan has been arrested for ... uh, hold on a minute. Wasn't I just writing about how Michael Lohan got arrested? Oh man, how embarrassing, I can't believe I was about to report on the same news twi—No, wait, it appears that this is a second arrest. Yes, two days after he was arrested for a domestic dispute with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Kate Major, Michael Lohan has been arrested again. For violating his restraining order and attempting to resist arrest. By leaping off a third-floor balcony. Into a TREE.Wow. Lohan's ongoing craziness almost makes his daughter Lindsay's full frontal Playboy shoot boring in comparison.

Another day, another member of the Lohan family getting thrown in jail. This time it was Lindsay's dad Michael Lohan, who was arrested in Tampa around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday morning after police responded to reports of a violent domestic dispute between Michael and his girlfriend Kate Major. Sound familiar? Yeah, he was busted in March for beating her up, too. In fact, this fight apparently started because he was trying to convince her to drop a restraining order against him.It gets worse, though. I haven't even told you about how he tried to fake a heart attack to escape jail, or the part where he threatened to kill his girlfriend if she didn't give him a blow job.

Poor house-arrested LiLo found herself back in the news this week when her ankle bracelet inexplicably went off, which made me wonder ... what exactly does Lindsay DO all day as a prisoner in her own home? Under the terms of her arrest, the starlet is not allowed to leave her $7,100 per month rental property in Venice, CA, for 35 days (though she can have visitors). Beats the state pen, but that's still a long time for a free spirit like Lindsay to be cooped up in one spot. Still, I don't think she'll let things get too dull. Maybe a Day in the Life of Lindsay would read something like this:

Lindsay Lohan ... she's in jail ... she's outta jail ... she's in jail ... she's outta jail. I feel like someone should give me a daisy so I can pick the petals off of it and let that decide if she's in or she's out. I am all for our legal system (I fully admit I don't really know how it works from an insider's perspective and hope to never really understand), but there is something to be said for someone being told this is their punishment and then actually having to ride out that punishment.

On Friday, Lindsay was sentenced to 120 days in jail and community service for breaking her probation, for which she was on due to DUIs she got back in 2007. She was swiftly taken away (it's about time) and then, within five hours, released on $75,000 bail (Really? Again?). The probation violation had to do with the whole necklace theft debacle — but the jail time wasn't actually for the alleged theft of the necklace -- that first goes to trial in June. Man, is that a mouthful!
