Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony

Well, the Vancouver Winter Games have come to an end. Is it just me or does it seem like they just started?

The end of these Olympic Games probably couldn't have ended better for Canada. They got a record-high in gold medals and their men's hockey team beat the USA in OT just hours before. A movie script couldn't have written it out any better. Hint, hint Hollywood.

We finally got to see the fourth Olympic torch go up, just 17 days too late, poking fun at their technical glitch during the opening ceremony. Neil Young performed and there were appearances by famous Canadians William Shatner, Catherine O’Hara, and Michael J. Fox making fun at the stereotypical tendencies of Canadians. Then a montage of all things Canada danced around the stage; Mounties, maple leafs, beavers, hockey players, and moose, while Michael Buble crooned The Maple Leaf Forever. The closing ceremony really just said one thing to me: Canadians are pretty darn funny, eh?

Russia, you have quite an act to follow.

The Olympic flag was passed to the Mayor of Sochi, which will host the Olympic Games in 2014.

What did you think of the closing ceremony?
