Ellen's Debut on American Idol: How'd She Do?

Okay, as much as I love Ellen, I was a bit skeptical when they announced she'd be taking Paula Abdul's place on American Idol. After all, does she even have a music backgroud?

But after watching her judging debut last night, I have to say, she fits right in.

Unfortunately for the contestants, she was no sweet, comforting Paula. Though, I was always annoyed when Paula sugar-coated everything. That's showbiz, baby. You suck, get over it. I felt Ellen was highly-needed breath of fresh air for the show.

i think she did GREAT!!!!! and i gotta say i love her.....everything she does.....she comes off soooo real and personable!

I liked her on the show. I'm glad she doesn't sugar coat things either. Some people who sound good in their first auditions sound terrible in Hollywood and they need to be told they sound terrible. The truth is always better and more helpful in the long run, than some sugar coated niceness. Sugar coating is what Grandma is for.
