I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Grammy's are always my favorite of the awards shows, and last night proved why. The performances, the outrageous outfits, and did I mention the performances?
Lady Gaga opened the night with a rendition of Poker Face and then a duet of Speechless with Elton John...awesome. Pink had a Cirque de Soleil-esque performance, spinning around in the air while singing Glitter in the Air. She looked absolutely phenomenal.
Beyonce, who was the big winner of the night picking up a female record six Grammys, performed If I Were a Boy and threw in Alanis Morrisette's You Oughta Know. I'm pretty sure it's impossible for her to put on a bad performance.
Taylor Swift, whom I adore, sounded really off-key during her duet with the legendary Stevie Nicks. I really liked the Michael Jackson tribute, but why on earth was Carrie Underwood singing in it? Random. And how sweet was it when Michael's kids, Paris and Prince, did the acceptance speech for their dad's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award? Tear.
Oh, yeah, and here are some of the actual awards:
