If you or someone you know is a fashionista, here are some books for your holiday list. Even if you are fashion challenged (like me), I've got some recommendations to keep the fashion police away!
I love clothes and I love shopping but I am a fashion klutz. Luckily, my hero Tim Gunn wrote a great handbook last year called Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style. It's e-a-s-y to read and reference, and Tim lays out in simple terms how to organize and coordinate your clothes. This book has helped me so much! Even if you're not into fashion, this is a book you should read.
If you think you have to have a lot cash to be fashionable, think again! Kathryn Finney, The Budget Fashionista, has a book (and a fab website) about ways to look like a million bucks...without spending a fortune. I have met Kathryn, she's amazing and so is her book, How to Be a Budget Fashionista: The Ultimate Guide to Looking Fabulous for Less. Fashion forward and fashion challenged moms need to read this book!
For the hard core fashion addicts, The Little Dictionary of Fashion by Christian Dior is heaven! This book is indispensable guide that covers everything from what to wear to a wedding to how to tie a scarf.
Finally, one of my favorite books about fashion (or lack of it) is The Fug Awards by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. I've written about these ladies before here at CafeMom, because I'm addicted to their funny, snark filled blog, Go Fug Yourself.
