Your kids have eaten a week's worth of chocolate in 3 hours. Everyone is tired and crabby after the excitement of Halloween. Perfect time to escape to a movie or crack open a good book. At my house this weekend, we are going have a movie-fest! Here are some ideas for your weekend entertainment, hope your Halloween was good!

New on DVD

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (20th Anniversary)-Nerds everywhere rejoice! Four never-released episodes of the cult TV show are now on DVD! If you are a fan of MST3K (like me) you will love this DVD. Word on the street is that these episodes are good but not in the realm of Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Journey to the Center of the Earth-Brendan Fraser. Do I really need to say anymore? Explosions, special effects and Brendan make any movie good.

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl-Perfect movie to soothe the savage girl after a post-Halloween chocolate binge. Abigail Breslin is really cute.

Weekend TV

Gladiators on BBC America-Just like the American show but with cool British accents! Series begins Saturday, November 1, 4p-5p EST.

Dogs 101 on Animal Planet-Cool new show that gives the 411 on 4 different dog breeds every show. Reminds me a little of the DK (Dorling-Kindersley) books turned into a TV show, very entertaining. Dogs 101 is on Animal Planet, Saturday, 8p-9p, EST.

Beer for My Horses on CMT-Country singer Toby Keith is a small-town deputy out to save the girl! The made-for-TV movie is on Sunday, November 2, 7p-9p, EST.

Escape into a Book

Prepare for the November 4th premiere of Twilight by reading Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn or The Host.

Philippa Gregory's The Other Queen is on my list of must-read books. This story is the saga of the death of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Have a great weekend!
