NBC's 'Parenthood': Lauren Graham Replaces Maura Tierney

If anyone's looked at my profile, it's obvious that The Gilmore Girls is my favorite TV show of all time. (In fact, I challenge someone to name a better show!) That's why I was thrilled to see that my favorite actor of all time, Lauren Graham (Lorelai on The Gilmore Girls), is joining the cast of NBC's new family show Parenthood.

However, I was not to thrilled to read the reason why Lauren was cast on the show...

I wish Lauren had joined under happier circumstances: According the The New York Times, she will replace Maura Tierney (ER), who withdrew from the show after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Still, I am excited to see Parenthood, which is based on the 1989 Ron Howard film of the same name. The show was originally scheduled to premiere this September but was postponed due to Maura's illness. No official premiere date has been set, although some blogs are speculating that it will be early 2010.

Ooooh I LOVE her! I am a huge gilmore girls fan too.. my best friend and I watched it every week for as long as I can remember.. it was our routine! I still watch it everyday if I catch it on Soap or ABC family, lol. I loved parenthood the movie too.. so I am excited to see this too. I like Maura Tierny (loved her in ER) but I see Lauren Graham for this role more than I see her.. I thought she was an odd choice from the start.

I was so hope hoping the Er actress you be able to be back. I enjoy her on ER SO much I never watch the Gilmore girls so I will have to get the new actress a look over.

Does any one have any othernews on the Er star, how is she doing and the like.
