My reading tastes tend more to fiction than memoirs, though the last few ones I remember reading -- Night by Elie Wiesel and Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt -- did leave me breathless.

It would take a lot for me to pick up a political memoir like the recent Ted Kennedy or even the forthcoming one by Sarah Palin titled Going Rouge. I'll admit to being a little curious to read what Palin claims will be an “unfiltered forum” as she has been troubled by “so many things written and said through mainstream media that have not been accurate,” according to the Christian Science Monitor.

Going Rouge was originally slated for release next spring, but the publisher is now fast-tracking the 400-page book for release November 17 in time for the holiday shopping season.

The book is already a best-seller, reaching the top spot on amazon's and Barnes & Noble's sales rankings. This one is moving fast; amazon doesn't even have a cover image yet! It won't be available on eBook until December 26.

Palin hasn't revealed exactly what her memoir is about, but the big question is whether the topic areas will navigate toward a 2012 presidential run. Will you read it?

Are you a fan of memoirs? What's the last one you read or are there any good ones you'd recommend?
