Peter, Paul and Mary Singer Has Died

Kim Conte

Sadly, I feel like 2009 has been one long obituary...Mary Travers, one-third of the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died after battling leukemia for several years. The trio was best known for their popular children's song, "Puff the Magic Dragon."

Other popular hits include, “Leaving on a Jet Plane," “If I Had A Hammer,” and “Blowin’ in the Wind."

Bandmates Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey have both written touching tributes to Mary on the official Peter, Paul and Mary Web site.

What is your favorite Peter, Paul, and Mary song?
